In February 2019 we conducted our first employee engagement survey and, while there are always improvements that can be made, we are very pleased with our initial results. Some of the results include:

NZIOB Charitable Trust

Along with our Managing Director being a trustee, we provide sponsorship to support the trust in their mission to ‘encourage aspirational thinking that lifts the construction industry’s performance’ through their giving of annual scholarship grants.

MATES in Construction

NZ Strong are a proud partner of MATES, a charity established to reduce the high suicide rates among NZ construction workers. All NZ Strong employees and subcontractors are going through development programmes to raise awareness, build resilience, promote help-seeking behaviours and look after each other.

Keystone Trust Supporter

We are proud to be able to make a difference and assist in giving students a hand-up into property related tertiary studies.  We seek to empower our future leaders by providing opportunities to inspire and unleash their full potential and growth through assisting the Keystone trust to provide scholarships and learning activities such as site visits.

Lifeline Aotearoa

Proceeds from our Christmas cards go to support the work of Lifeline Aotearoa, ensuring that over the Christmas and holiday season, when New Zealanders are reaching out for help, they have somewhere to turn.

The Southern Initiative

We are a Southern Initiative Maori and Pasifika Trades Training Consortium signatory and have entered into an agreement with G&H Training and our preferred subcontractors to offer opportunities for apprentice candidates. Each recruit is given a mentor who is responsible for providing ongoing support and formal training programmes.


Support for Friends of Maungawhau (Mt Eden) – staff volunteer their time to assist in tree planting and track maintenance.


Sponsorship of the Northern Marvels in the Beko Netball League.  The league is fundamental to the development of talent and competitiveness of Netball New Zealand’s elite teams.

Recent One-Off Community Support



2019 –  Sponsorship of one of our team in the Lifewise Big Sleepout. Stripped of their creature comforts, leaders and influencers from business, community and political spheres in Auckland and Rotorua spend one night on cold concrete, gaining an insight into what it means to sleep rough. Every dollar raised goes towards Lifewise’s work towards ending homelessness.

Prostate Cancer Foundation

2019 – We are proud to support Blue September, the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s annual awareness and fundraising campaign.


2019 – Sponsorship of one of our team to take part in The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to raise funds and awareness for men’s health and prostate cancer on behalf of the Movember Foundation.

The Great Construction Debate

2018 – Sponsorship of The Great Construction Debate – Coordinated by the Property Council, this event provided an opportunity for experienced industry leaders, contractors and clients/consultants to gather with 250 attendees to discuss the current barriers, challenges, opportunities and potential solutions for the New Zealand construction industry.
